PrAEctiCe brokerage events for young agripreneurs

Agripreneurs’ limitations are linked to the high upfront costs they bear and the inability to identify or explore business opportunities.

To bridge this gap, the Africa Agribusiness Academy, Kenya, in partnership with the Kenya National Farmers Federation (KENAFF), organised a brokerage event for agripreneurs to identify new opportunities in Agroecology, build scalable business solutions, and improve their efficiency through tools like the PrAEctiCe decision support tool.

The first event was organised for agripreneurs in May, followed by the stakeholders’ meeting in June. It took place under the umbrella of a youth exchange program, which was an opportunity for young Agro startups to exchange knowledge and understand the intricacies of developing an Agroecology solution using the prAEctiCe decision support tool as a case study.

Building on its success, a second PrAEctiCe brokerage event was held in June, with key stakeholders and independent youth agripreneurs from Western Kenya. The event created a collaborative space for exchanging experiences, partnerships, and exploring new business opportunities in agroecology.

At the end of both events, a tour was scheduled for participants to the PrAEctiCe’s Living Lab in Kisumu, Kenya, to observe firsthand the integration of agroecological practices within the circular water-energy-nutrient system, interact with local farmers, and gain practical insights into sustainable food production approaches being piloted in the region.
