PrAEctiCe Partners Meeting in Maribor

The University of Maribor hosted a partners’ meeting on 20-21 August to deliberate on the ongoing development of the PrAEctiCe Decision Support Tool.

This tool, envisaged as a comprehensive Monitoring Tool, Farmer App, and Content Management system for Advisors, aims to offer solutions to potential aquaculture challenges, such as low oxygen levels in the water, and provide actionable recommendations for remediation. Present at the meeting were representatives from partner organisations, including APODISSI, represented by Adriano Mauro; Prof Jan Hoinkis, the project coordinator; Talha Aditye from Hochschule Karlsruhe University; Prof Domen Mongus and Matej Brumen from the University of Maribor.

The PrAEctiCe platform’s design accommodates multiple users and monitors multiple farms, facilitating a holistic assessment of their overall health. The user can establish direct contact through the associated app if a farm encounters an issue.

The essentiality of collecting data from the Kisumu living lab was emphasised, with the data points being crucial for accurate predictive analysis. This diverse data, sourced from various PrAEctiCe living labs with distinct conditions and cultivated fish species, is collected using multiple sensors. New users are required to be configured based on their data capture capabilities.

The ongoing discussions focused on the functional development and eventual commercialisation of the PrAEctiCe platform. The PrAEctiCe decision support tool (DST) is currently at TRL6 and encompasses infrastructure data, farm data, historical weather data, field data, and living lab data monitoring.
