PrAEctiCe and DIVAGRI Signs MoU to Advance Sustainable Agriculture

In its commitment to ensure collaboration and exchange through workshops/webinars with relevant Horizon Europe projects, PrAEctiCe has signed a memorandum of understanding with DIVAGRI. The two projects will develop collaborative synergy and best practices sharing.

DIVAGRI, a Horizon 2020 project, funded by the European Commission promotes sustainable agricultural practices through ecosystem restoration, regenerative agriculture that converts leftover plants into bioenergy products, and highly innovative clay-based micro-irrigation system “SLECI” (Self-regulating, Low Energy, Claybased Irrigation) that uses clay to deliver just the right amount of water to plants, saving water and energy.

With 21 existing partners, the project implemented in Botswana, Ghana, Mozambique, Namibia, and South Africa builds on community participation. It enables smallholder farmers to increase and generate new economic opportunities while guaranteeing food security, real rural opportunities, and sustainability.

Margherita Trestini, the Communication and Dissemination lead for PrAEctiCe from Apodissi, signed on behalf of PrAEctiCe, while Regina Krause, RSI Director, representing the Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design, Robert-Schmidt-Institut signed on behalf of the DIVAGRI project.

With this agreement, PrAEctiCe and DIVAGRI will join forces in a strategic partnership, focusing on fostering collaboration between the two projects’ partners sharing knowledge, best practices, organise events and communication activities to benefit both parties through social media and other communication channels ensuring new agroecological solutions, influence policies and connect more stakeholders across Europe and Africa.
